Tim Welton
Director
After studying Modern Languages at Durham University, Tim trained at RADA and has acted in numerous productions in theatre, television and film. Since 2001, Tim has additionally worked as a director, dramaturg and writer.
As well as his freelance directing career he has been Associate Director at the New Wolsey Theatre, (Ipswich) Artistic Director of Libra Theatre Company (Cambridge) and enjoyed three years as Resident Director and acting Literary Manager for West End Producer, Bill Kenwright. Tim is Staff Director of the national touring production of CABARET.
Tim has developed pieces as dramaturg and writer for the Norwich and Norfolk festival, Playwrights East and Carnival UK. He has a personal interest in the use of technology and has written scripts for digital media output including the interactive drama “Ghosts” for BBC Hull/Hull City Council, various games scripts for BBC Jam (Formerly BBC Digital Curriculum) as well as CBBC online.
Currently, as well as pursuing his freelance career, Tim is Artistic Director of Ruthie Henshall's company Threepin Productions, working as a director and writer with Ruthie and MD Paul Schofield on various new musical commissions.

Associate Directing includes: Cabaret (Lyric Theatre, Savoy Theatre and National Tour), London Road (RNT) and Twelve Angry Men (National Tour).
